The Conquest of Lady Cassandra (Fairbourne Quartet #2) - Madeline Hunter I should have loved this book, everything was there: historical setting, misunderstood hero, independent heroine und so on.
But I just couldn't connect to any of the characters. They seemed stiff and kind of cold, even though the heroine tries to save her aunt from her evil brothers clutches. In the end I didn't care for any of them and I also didn't particularly enjoy the writing. It's neither especially witty, something I enjoy in historical romances. And the dialogues bored me most of the time.

The Elite - 'Kiera Cass' I was very much looking forward to the 2nd installation of the Selection series as I enjoyed reading the first book with its fiery heroine and adorable prince.

Unfortunately I couldn't enjoy The Elite as much. This is mainly due to America behaving irrationally, which annoyed me. She is caught between two boys (men?) and can't make up her mind. And instead of dealing with this problem she ignores it! She is like a yo-yo, one day it's Maxon and the other day Aspen. Whenever one of them does something she doesn't like she goes with the other one. So mature!
Also she is astonishingly good in avoiding to speak about relevant things with her beaus. She just came over extremely superficially in coloring everybody either black or white. No grey shades for America.

Otherwise the book is once again an easy read. The flow is steady and action-wise more is happening as well. The author hides some interesting shockers which will keep you on your toes.

Hopefully America will grow in the next book and will be a worth girlfriend!

Falling Kingdoms (Falling Kingdoms, #1)

Falling Kingdoms (Falling Kingdoms, #1) - Morgan Rhodes, Michelle Rowen I finished 50% of the book and then I couldn't make myself waste more time on it.
None of the main characters is likeable or at least interesting. A lot of stereotyping is going on and the story is moving sooooo slow as well.
Not a book for me :(

Lover At Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #11)

Lover At Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #11) - J.R. Ward Finally the story if Blay and Qhuinn. I have been waiting for this one since years!

I enjoyed the book immensely though it was occasionally quite painful. Qhuinn proves to be a changed man and I was falling for him all over again. Blay on the other hand was actually kind of an asshole, which was surprising as he is normally a gentleman.

I would have enjoyed the whole book even more if J.R. Ward wouldn't want to tell 4 stories in one book. There is just too much going on at the same time!

Falling Into You (Falling #1)

Falling Into You (Falling #1) - Jasinda Wilder It's more like 3 1/2 stars!

The book starts really strong. Beautifully story with interesting details and good story-telling.
The second part is a bit of a let down. There are too many coincidences and too much issues going on to be believable. Still a good love story though!

I haven't cried that much in ages over a book.
